What are my options for custom dentures?

Balcones Family Dental offers two excellent choices for custom dentures:

Full Dentures

Full dentures are removable prosthetic devices used to replace an entire arch of missing teeth. Crafted from durable materials like acrylic or porcelain, full dentures are custom-made to fit snugly over the gums and replicate the appearance and function of natural teeth. They restore the appearance of your smile as well as your ability to speak and chew comfortably. Full dentures can significantly improve quality of life for individuals with complete tooth loss, restoring confidence and facial aesthetics.

Partial Dentures

Partial dentures are removable prosthetic devices designed to replace one or more missing teeth within an arch. They consist of replacement teeth attached to a gum-colored base, often made from acrylic or metal, which clasps onto adjacent natural teeth for stability. Partial dentures not only fill in gaps left by missing teeth but also prevent neighboring teeth from shifting out of alignment. Custom-made to match the shape, size, and color of your natural teeth, partial dentures blend seamlessly with your smile, restoring both function and aesthetics.

What is the process for receiving dentures?

The denture process typically involves several steps:

  • Initial Consultation: Our team will assess your oral health, discuss your treatment goals, preferences, and needs, and determine if dentures are the right option for you.
  • Impressions: If dentures are recommended, impressions of your gums and any remaining teeth will be taken to create your custom-fit dentures.
  • Custom Fitting: Once adjustments are complete, your final dentures will be fabricated. We’ll have you try them on before you leave to make sure that they look and feel perfect!

Are dentures affordable?

Considering their long-term benefits in restoring oral function and enhancing quality of life, dentures are often considered a cost-effective solution for individuals with missing teeth. Dentures can vary in cost depending on factors such as the materials used and the complexity of the case. While the initial investment may seem significant, they are often more affordable than other tooth replacement options such as dental implants.
