How often should I get a dental exam and cleaning?

Our team at Balcones Family Dental encourages patients to visit our office every six months. Tooth decay and gum disease don’t often cause problems until they’re more advanced. By attending regular dental appointments, our team can prevent or treat these problems before they worsen. Though every six months is typical, we may need you to come in more frequently if your oral health needs extra attention.

When should I bring my child to the dentist for the first time?

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that children should start visiting the dentist by the time their first tooth sprouts or no later than their first birthday. Children must visit the dentist regularly to track milestones and prevent tooth decay. We always treat our young patients with a unique approach, striving to create an environment that feels safe, comfortable, and educational.
