Invisalign Treatment

Invisalign uses custom-crafted clear aligner trays to guide teeth into their ideal position. Every time you change your aligners, around every two weeks or as directed, you’ll see progress to keep you excited and motivated to wear your aligners for 20-22 hours a day. The total length of treatment will vary on your case, but most Invisalign cases we treat are complete in under a year!

Advantages of Invisalign® Clear Aligner Therapy

Compared to traditional braces, Invisalign makes straightening teeth discreet and comfortable. The clear aligners are removable, so you don’t have to sacrifice your favorite foods. All you have to do is take them out for meals without food getting stuck on brackets and wires. Their removability also makes brushing and flossing easier. Not to mention, Invisalign appointments are often less frequent, freeing up time in your schedule as you continue doing the things you love as you journey to a straighter smile.

Invisalign® Treatment Candidacy

Invisalign aligners tend to be perfect for many patients as the system can fix a broad spectrum of orthodontic issues. However, Invisalign may not be the most effective approach for severe misalignment or those who cannot wear the clear aligners for at least 20-22 hours a day. If you’re interested in Invisalign, we encourage you to schedule a consultation with our team!

How do you take care of Invisalign aligners?

Rinse your Invisalign aligners with lukewarm water when you remove them and clean them daily with a soft toothbrush and unscented soap or Invisalign cleaner. Avoid using hot water, as it can warp the aligners. Store them in their protective case when not in use to prevent damage. Brush and floss your teeth before putting your aligners back in to avoid trapping food or bacteria, which can cause plaque buildup or odors.

Will I have to wear a retainer post-Invisalign treatment?

Wearing a retainer after your treatment is complete is necessary to maintain your results. Teeth can naturally shift back to their original positions over time without a retainer. Our team will create your custom retainer and advise how often to wear it, typically full-time at first and then only at night. Consistent retainer use ensures that your teeth remain in their new, properly aligned positions for the long term.

What should I do if I lose or break an Invisalign aligner?

If you lose or break an Invisalign aligner, get in touch with our team as soon as possible. Depending on your progress, they may advise moving to the next set of aligners or wearing the previous set temporarily. Do not skip aligners or stop wearing them, as this can delay treatment. Avoid storing your aligners in things like napkins, as they can easily be thrown away by mistake, and instead keep them in their case.
